Aaron Larget-Caplan Revolutions in Music – Celebrating the USA at 250
American guitarist and composer Aaron Larget-Caplan commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a daring and eclectic program that reimagines the American sound through the classical guitar. Revolutions in Music brings together newly crafted arrangements of patriotic songs, visionary works by 20th- and 21st-century American composers, and unexpected forays into pop culture.
From the elegance of George Gershwin and the vitality of Leonard Bernstein, to the experimental brilliance of John Cage, the mystical colors of Alan Hovhaness, and the lyrical voice of Florence Price, the program showcases the wide spectrum of American creativity. Alongside these concert hall giants, Larget-Caplan highlights the poetic storytelling of Paul Simon, the electrifying innovation of Eddie Van Halen, and the dark romanticism of Edgar Allan Poe—all reframed through the expressive possibilities of six strings.
Rooted in Boston’s revolutionary spirit and reaching out across the nation, this program is both a tribute to history and a bold look toward the future—six strings of liberty resonating in celebration of America at 250.
